Oregon's limited X-ray rules
Oregon's Board of Medical Imaging issues Limited X-Ray Machine Operator (LXMO) permits for five anatomic areas: skull/sinus, spine, chest, extremities and podiatric (OAR 337-010-0030).
You must pass the Core plus at least one area, and your permit is issued only for the areas you passed and completed clinicals in. You must pass the Core before you can get a temporary permit, and you can add areas later.
Worth knowing
- Your course certificate lists the areas you trained in.
- Bone densitometry is a separate limited permit: a Board-approved 24-hour course plus the ARRT BDEO exam, 70% to pass, 3 attempts.
