Montana's limited X-ray rules
Montana's Board of Radiologic Technologists issues limited permits (ARM 24.204.511). Every applicant passes the ARRT Limited Scope Core, and graduates of the 104-hour course also take the module exams for the regions they want on their permit.
There are five permit categories: chest; extremities; skull and sinuses; spine; and abdomen, GI tract (post-fluoroscopy films only) and hip/pelvis, which is tested by Montana's own State Combined Examination ($15, 70% to pass). The ARRT Podiatric module isn't listed.
Worth knowing
- Limited permit holders can add a bone densitometry endorsement through the ARRT BDEO exam (ISCD is also listed).
