Minnesota's limited X-ray rules
Minnesota's Department of Health registers Limited Scope X-ray Operators (LSXOs). The result is an MDH registration certificate rather than a license. You must pass the ARRT Limited Scope Core before you X-ray any region, plus at least one module, and you may image only the regions whose modules you've passed.
To test, you apply to MDH ($25), then pay ARRT ($150), and you have a 90-day window to take the exam.
Worth knowing
- Bone densitometry is a separate MDH Bone Densitometry Equipment Operator registration through the ARRT BDEO exam (70%); the Core isn't required for it.
- LSXOs may not perform bone densitometry without that registration.
