Illinois's limited X-ray rules
Illinois accredits Limited Diagnostic Radiographers through the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA). Under 32 Ill. Adm. Code 401.70(b)(7) the exam is the ARRT Limited Scope exam, with categories for chest, extremities, skull/sinus and spine, and exams are scheduled through IEMA.
Illinois's extremities category includes the hip and pelvis, which is wider than in many states. No podiatric category appears in the rule text.
Worth knowing
- The rule's appendix lists the procedures allowed in each category.
- Chiropractic radiography accreditation uses the ACRRT exam instead (a separate pathway).
