Indiana's limited X-ray rules

Indiana's Department of Health issues limited radiography licenses by type: Chest Radiographer, Podiatric Radiographer, Chiropractic Radiographer and Dental Radiographer (dental is outside what we cover). You don't pick modules freely; they follow the license type.

Chest is the ARRT Limited Scope Core plus Chest. Podiatric is Core plus Podiatric. Chiropractic is Core plus Extremities and Spine. Each type also has alternative exams (for example ASCT for chiropractic or the Indiana Podiatric Medical Association exam for podiatric).

Worth knowing

  • 410 IAC 5.2-11 also describes a Limited General Radiography License, but IDOH's licensure page lists only chest, chiropractic, dental and podiatric.
  • Passing score not published on the pages we found. IDOH's radiology contact is Radiology@health.in.gov.

Some of Indiana's details aren't stated on an official page we could read. Check with your state board before you apply or register for an exam.
