Michigan's limited X-ray rules
Michigan doesn't license X-ray operators. Its ionizing radiation rules (R 333.5201-5213, approved March 2024) define limited diagnostic radiography in five areas: chest, extremities, spine, skull/sinuses and podiatric (foot and ankle).
Operators need an approved program or at least 40 hours of training plus competency, and 12 CE hours every 24 months. No exam is named. The text we read was a draft version of the rules, so confirm the final version with the state.
Some of Michigan's details aren't stated on an official page we could read. Check with your state board before you apply or register for an exam.
